Connect an AI Agent to Wyntek

What an agent can do

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools on other services. Wyntek's server gives an assistant three read-only tools, so it can answer manufacturing questions with live data instead of guessing.

Claude Code

Add the server from your terminal. The user scope makes Wyntek available in every project; leave the flag off to add it to the current project only.

Run /mcp inside Claude Code to check the connection. Wyntek should show as connected, with three tools.

Claude on the web and desktop

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Click the + button and choose Add custom connector.
3. Name it Wyntek and paste https://wyntek.tech/mcp as the URL. Leave Advanced settings empty: the server needs no sign-in.
4. Click Add, then turn the connector on in a chat from the + menu, under Connectors.

Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, and Max plans, and Free allows one. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector for the organisation first. Claude reaches the server from Anthropic's cloud, which is why it is public.

ChatGPT

1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings. In September 2026 it sits under Security and login, and OpenAI moves it from time to time.
2. Create a new app for an MCP server and paste https://wyntek.tech/mcp as the server URL.
3. Choose No authentication and save. The app then appears among the Developer mode tools in the message composer.

Developer mode is available on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts.

Cursor

Add Wyntek to .cursor/mcp.json in a project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use it in every project.

VS Code with GitHub Copilot

Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json, then use Copilot Chat in Agent mode, which is where MCP tools appear.

Other MCP clients

Any client that accepts a remote MCP server by URL works. Clients that can only launch local servers can reach Wyntek through the open-source mcp-remote bridge.

Try it

• Using Wyntek, which materials can I order on the free plan?
• Estimate 10 parts in PETG with a volume of 12.5 cm³ each.
• What would a 20 cm³ part cost to machine in aluminium?
• Make me an order link for 25 parts in nylon.

Estimates use the same calculation as Wyntek's checkout and leave out shipping. The binding price comes from the uploaded file when you submit the order.

Limits

• No sign-in or API key. Everything is public and read-only.
• About 120 MCP requests a minute per client. Over the limit the server answers HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header.
• Inline files: STL or OBJ in millimetres, up to 5 files and 3 MB in total. Other CAD formats return manual_review, so send a volume instead or order on the site.
• Quantities from 1 to 100 per estimate or order link.
